      Malt beer | Malt beverage

      A malt drink is a non-alcoholic beverage. Fermented drink in which the primary ingredient is the grain, or seed, of the barley plant, which has been allowed to sprout slightly in a traditional way called "malting" before it is processed. Malt beverage is a fermented drink made with malted barley and hops. The manufacturing process of fermentation for maltbased soft drinks is similar to that used in beer production, with the products containing typically malt, sugar, and hops.

      Malt drink is a non-alcoholic beverage obtained from unfermented wort. Historically, malt drink was used as food for children and the sick, but has since become a mainstream beverage consumed by people of all ages. More importantly, malt-based drinks have developed a reputation over the centuries for their nutritional value, a message that is attractive for manufacturers to carry across in today's climate of increasing health awareness.

      Malt drinks are a great alternative to alcoholic beverages, especially for people who do not drink alcohol. They are also a good source of vitamins and minerals. Malt drinks are rich in vitamins B6 and B12, which are essential for maintaining healthy brain function. They also contain minerals such as zinc, magnesium, and potassium, which are important for maintaining healthy bones and muscles. Malt drinks are also a good source of fiber, which helps to regulate digestion and prevent constipation.

      Malt drinks can be enjoyed by people of all ages, including children and pregnant women. Malt drinks are a perfect alternative for alcoholic drinks or processed carbonated soft drinks, and offer the same tasteful and refreshing experience.

      Commercial brands of malt drinks: Malt drinks’ popularity, however, extends beyond Nigeria and is very much present in much of West and Central Africa. Although Malta Guinness has found great acceptance in Nigeria, the drink was first conceived in Cameroon in 1984, and today it’s the most widely distributed malt drink in Africa. According to Guinness Nigeria, Malta Guinness is a hugely successful and profitable brand available in 11 countries – Cameroon, Nigeria, Ghana, Ethiopia, Mauritius, Benin, Burkina Faso, Ivory Coast, Liberia, Gabon, and Togo.

      Malt coffee drink

      Malt coffee drinks, which are a blend of malt flavors and coffee. The trend is gaining popularity in East Africa, especially among homegrown brands. In Kenya, Brava Food Industries has Bravo Malto Coffee, which falls under this category. Across Tanzania, Bakhresa Group has Azam Malti Coffee, while in Uganda, Hariss International has Riham Coffee Malt.

      Kvass - traditional russian drink

      A few words about the impressive diversity. The following varieties of homemade kvass are considered classics:

      •  bread;
      •  okroshechny;
      •  fruit and berry;
      •  dairy;
      •  honey.

      Malt kvass
      Malt kvass is very rich, amber, and carbonated. And if you add raisins, the sweet and sour notes will be pronounced. To do this, mix water and malt and set the mixture to boil. Then ferment a small amount with yeast and pour it into the malt brew. An important nuance: use only fresh compressed yeast and stir very carefully when adding water to avoid lumps. Then the kvass will ripen evenly, maintaining a mild taste. Pour water over the raisins too, and then mix with malt and leave to ferment for at least 8 hours. Afterwards, the kvass is carefully filtered, poured into bottles or other prepared containers and always cooled in the refrigerator. Malt kvass perfectly quenches thirst and refreshes on a hot day, leaving a pleasant aftertaste on the tongue.
