Russia's first modern industrial hop farm with an area of 186 hectares in the most favorable region for the cultivation of bitter hop varieties, with primary processing and granulation.
The planned capacity of the project is up to 400 tons per year.
Project implementation
As part of the project, the land was prepared, an irrigation system was created, a trellis system, anchors, a system of cables and load-bearing wires were installed. European machinery and specialized equipment for planting seedlings, plant protection, harvesting up to 2,000 vines have been purchased.
The hop garden is located in the village of Novodmitrovskaya, Krasnodar Krai.
Advantages of location
- Location in USDA Climate Zone 6. The hop gardens of the Bavaria region (Germany) are located in zone 6.
- The average annual precipitation is similar to the precipitation volume of the Bavaria region. It is 650-750 mm per year.
- Neutral, slightly acidic pre-Caucasian carbonate chernozems, mountain-forest brown soils are ideal for hop growing.
- Developed infrastructure of the Krasnodar Krai.
- The possibility of expanding our hop growing area on adjacent lands.
The project is supported by leading hop growing experts from Europe and the USA who participated in the establishment and construction of the hop farm and provide services in the selection of equipment, seedlings and consumables.
Features of the production of bitter hop varieties
The low content of alpha acid in bitter hop varieties may be due to the short growing season, during which a hop cone does not have time to gain the required bitterness. Bitter varieties require a hot and long summer period, which is provided by the climatic conditions of the Krasnodar Krai.
- cultivation of hops on the territory of the hop farm
- laboratory analysis of crops
- harvesting from the fields
- picking hop cones from vines
- hop drying in drying plants
- blowing, air conditioning
- granulating
- laboratory analysis
- packaging and vacuuming
- storing in cold rooms
The aim of the project is to supply breweries in Russia and the CIS with Russian hops that meet the highest quality standards. Reducing the dependence of domestic producers on imported raw materials for brewing, the share of which, according to some estimates, is up to 98%.
