Russian brand ‘Kursk Malt’ celebrates its 10th anniversary
On February 5, 2013, the brewing of the first batches of Belana barley with a total weight of 100 tons was started at the production facilities of the Kursk malting plant owned by Grainrus group since December 2012.
The supply of the first volumes of barley marked the birth of the Russian brand ‘Kursk Malt’. The first batches of light barley malt were put on the market on February 13, 2013.
Today, the Kursk Malt line includes 20 varieties of barley, wheat, rye, oatmeal, and buckwheat malts.
In 10 years, the Kursk Malt brand has won the loyalty of beer and beer-and-soft-drinks producers in Russia and the CIS. This is evidenced by an exponential growth in production volumes and an increase in the number of large, medium and small-scale breweries that purchase significant volumes of malt for the production of beer and other alcoholic beverages.
Since 2020, the brand’s products have gained a position as raw materials for the food, bakery and confectionery industries, expanding the brand’s line by producing rye, buckwheat, and oat malts.
The production capacity of the Kursk malting plant is up to 125 KTPY of light malt and up to 65 KTPY of caramel malts. The production capacity of the drying complex is up to 330 tons per day, and the capacity of the elevator for the storage of raw materials and finished products is up to 70 thousand tons. The malting plant has a roasting shop with a capacity of 6 KTPY and produces 20 varieties of basic and special malts.
Since 2020, the Organic Food malt plant in Rybinsk (Yaroslavl region) has been producing rye and light barley malt under the Kursk Malt brand.
The quality of the products is confirmed by the international quality certification marks ISO, EAC, LGC, and VLB Berlin, as well as by numerous awards and prizes won in all-Russian contests, such as ‘All-Russian Mark’, ‘Quality Assurance. 21st Century’ of the Federal Scientific Center for Food Systems n.a. V.M. Gorbatov, Russian Academy of Sciences.
The malt has been exported to 15 countries on 5 continents.
