On December 21, 2022 it is 10 years since Grainrus Group acquired the "Kursk malt" production site in Kursk.
Since 2012, with the acquisition of the malt house began not only the formation of the Russian malt brand "Kursk malt", but also the vector of the group of companies from importer to malt producer. At the time of the acquisition, the malt house was owned by the transnational beer producer ABinBev.
Over 10 years, modernization and construction of production facilities were carried out, which made it possible to increase the production of light malt by 3 times, as well as establish quality control "from barley seed to malt" in an accredited laboratory. In 2016, once the malt roasting shop with equipment from the Czech Republic was launched, the production of a line of caramel malts with colors ranging from 20 to 1400, which are actively used in Kraft brewing in the production of dark, semi-dark beers, began.
In 2018, production of special non-barley malts, such as buckwheat malt and oat malt, used not only in brewing but also in bakery production, was launched.
In 2019, Pilsner Premium light malt is on sale, the feature of which is its higher extractivity up to 83% and enzymatic activity. The quality of malt is not inferior to the best European counterparts.
Today the production capacity of "Kursk Malt" malt house is up to 125 thousand tons of light malt per year. The capacity of the drying complex is up to 300 tons per day, and the volume of elevator storage capacity for raw materials / finished products up to 70,000 tons. The malt house has a roasting shop with a capacity of 6,500 tons per year and produces 20 varieties of basic, caramel and special malts.
The quality of products is confirmed by international quality marks of ISO, EAC, LGC, VLB Berlin, as well as has repeatedly been awarded all-Russian contests and prizes, "All-Russian brand", "Quality Guarantee, 21 century" of the Federal Scientific Center named after Gorbatyi of the Russian Academy of Sciences.
Malt has been exported to 15 countries on 5 continents.
