Launch of Malt Roasting Shop in the Yaroslavl Oblast
The most up-to-date roasting equipment in the Russian Federation and the CIS has been launched at the malt caramelization shop with a capacity of 6,500 tons per year.
On February 7, 2023, the first pilot batch of special roasted malt was produced at the Organic Food production complex in the village of Kostino, Rybinsk district, Yaroslavl Oblast.
It has been equipped with two integrated malt roasters with an aspiration system and a fully automated technological process with a system for supplementary firing of aromatic gases.
The production complex is equipped with utility system and transfer lines to ensure uninterrupted supply of raw materials, their processing, and packaging of finished products. A highly qualified team of specialists and technologists guarantees the consistent quality and reproducibility of each batch.
The actual capacity of the malt roasting shop is 6,500 tons of malt per year, which allows the production of up to 15 types of malt, such as caramel, colored from 20 to 1600 units, chocolate and black malts, which are actively used in craft breweries in the production of dark and semi-dark beers.
The entire product line is currently being tested; experimental brews are being carried out at a personal minibrewery in Moscow.
The malt production of Organic Food LLC has been part of the Grainrus group since 2020. The enterprise produces malt for brewing, distillation and baking under the brand name “Kursky Solod”. The company's products have been winning prizes in Russian and international industry competitions: “Quality Guarantee 2021” of the Federal Scientific Center for Food Systems n. a. V.M. Gorbatov of the Russian Academy of Sciences, “All-Russian Brand. XXI Century”, and others. Also, at the end of 2021, the company entered the “Russian Best Enterprise League”, and in February 2023, received the status award “Industry Leader 2022”.
As a result of the launch of the roasting shop at the malt house, Organic Food doubled the production capacity for the special malts of the Grainrus group of companies and reached 13,000 tons per year.
The malt has been exported to 15 countries on 5 continents.
